We, a group of enthusiastic professionals of Oracle*, set up a public information center at Total Mall Koramangala. Total is one of the busiest hubs in Bangalore and thousands of people visit the mall over the weekend. We attracted interested people into a conversation or quick chat and convinced them about the problem and most importantly suggested solutions to them. We distributed pamphlets and spent hours with general public who visit the mall.
The response and enthusiasm among people were notable. Loads of suggestions, conversations, ways of improvement, questions, doubts, criticisms were some glimpse of elements that kept us busy and excited throughout the campaign. Apart from thousands of personal interactions, we distributed around 4500 pamphlets during the campaign. This was an overwhelming response and motivation for us to proceed forward with such ideas in the coming days.
Our sincere thanks to all who took part in the campaign, the volunteers, the visitors and whoever read this note and feel responsible to Nature. Special thanks to Saahas, a Bangalore based organization committed to finding solutions to solid waste. Thanks to Total Mall authority. A round of applause also to the Global Volunteers Day team here at Oracle. Some pictures of the campaign are posted here.
